Which companies sponsor visas for vice presidents in Delaware?
Financial institutions with major Wilmington operations are the most active sponsors for VP-level roles in Delaware. JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, Citigroup, and Barclays U.S. all maintain significant corporate functions there. DuPont and Incyte also sponsor senior roles on the industrial and pharmaceutical side. These employers have established immigration programs and regularly file H-1B petitions for senior leadership positions.
Which visa types are most common for vice president roles in Delaware?
The H-1B is the most common visa for vice president roles in Delaware, particularly in financial services, where VP positions typically require specialized degrees in finance, economics, or business. The L-1A is common for executives transferred from international offices, which is frequent among global banks with Wilmington operations. The O-1A applies when a candidate has demonstrable extraordinary achievement in their field.
Which cities in Delaware have the most vice president sponsorship jobs?
Wilmington accounts for the overwhelming majority of VP-level sponsorship activity in Delaware. It serves as the state's financial and corporate center, hosting the U.S. headquarters or major divisions of numerous banks and credit card companies. Newark, home to the University of Delaware, has some presence in research and administrative leadership. Outside these two cities, VP sponsorship opportunities are limited.
How to find vice president visa sponsorship jobs in Delaware?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to identify VP-level openings in Delaware without sorting through roles that don't offer sponsorship. Because VP roles are senior and less frequently posted publicly, checking Migrate Mate regularly and setting up alerts for Delaware vice president positions gives you the best chance of catching new openings as they appear.
Are there state-specific considerations for vice president visa sponsorship in Delaware?
Delaware's corporate-friendly legal environment means many Fortune 500 companies are incorporated there, but actual employees often work in Wilmington or are distributed nationally. For H-1B purposes, the work location on the Labor Condition Application must reflect where duties are actually performed, not the state of incorporation. VP candidates should confirm their role's physical work location with the employer early in the process, as this affects the prevailing wage determination.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored vice president jobs in Delaware?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
