Which companies sponsor visas for vice presidents in New York?
Financial institutions are among the most active sponsors for vice president roles in New York. JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and BlackRock have all filed H-1B petitions for VP-level positions. Large technology firms with New York offices, including Google, Amazon, and Meta, also sponsor at this level. Consulting firms such as McKinsey and Deloitte round out the employer pool.
Which visa types are most common for vice president roles in New York?
The H-1B is the most common visa for vice president roles in New York, covering positions in finance, technology, and consulting that require specialized knowledge. Senior candidates may also qualify for the O-1A if they can demonstrate extraordinary achievement in their field. Intracompany transferees moving from a multinational's foreign office into a New York VP role typically use the L-1A visa.
Which cities in New York have the most vice president sponsorship jobs?
Manhattan concentrates the vast majority of vice president sponsorship activity in New York, particularly in Midtown and the Financial District where global banks, asset managers, and professional services firms are headquartered. Brooklyn has a smaller but growing presence in technology and media. White Plains and other Westchester County locations host corporate headquarters that occasionally sponsor VP-level talent.
How to find vice president visa sponsorship jobs in New York?

You can filter by industry and location to focus on financial services, technology, or consulting employers active in the New York market. Setting up alerts helps you track new VP openings as they're posted.
Are there state-specific considerations for vice president visa sponsorship in New York?
New York employers filing H-1B petitions for vice president roles must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements, which are benchmarked to New York City's wage levels and tend to be among the highest in the country given the cost of living. New York's concentration of regulated industries, particularly financial services, means that some VP roles also require FINRA licensing, which can affect hiring timelines for international candidates.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored vice president jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
