Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership: Oversee all aspects of field and project operations, from initial estimating to project closeout, ensuring strict adherence to schedules, budgets, and specifications.
Team Development: Mentor and lead technicians, service/maintenance teams, and project managers, cultivating a high performance culture rooted in accountability, safety, and quality.
Strategic Planning: Manage operational planning, including manpower allocation, resource optimization, project sequencing, and cross trade coordination to enhance productivity and reduce rework.
Process Excellence: Develop and refine standard operating procedures for project execution, change order management, document control, and closeout across all project types.
Financial Oversight: Monitor and manage project financials, including labor costs, material procurement, profit margins, and cash flow, ensuring fiscal discipline and profitability.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure full compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), state and local electrical regulations, OSHA standards, and public contract requirements.
Client & Partner Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, general contractors (GCs), construction managers, inspectors, and public entities to drive repeat business and exceptional client satisfaction.
Talent Management: Lead recruitment, development, and retention efforts for electricians, apprentices, foremen, and project managers, with a focus on performance management and succession planning.
Technology Advocacy: Champion the use of operational technology—such as project management platforms, field reporting tools, and scheduling systems—to enhance visibility, communication, and decision making.
Executive Decision Making: Serve as the senior operational leader in the President/Owner’s absence, contributing to strategic planning, annual budgeting, and long term growth initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
Licensing: Current New Jersey Electrical Contractor license (or equivalent state license strongly preferred).
Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in electrical contracting and service work, with a demonstrated ability to take on increasing responsibility.
Leadership Expertise: 5+ years in operations management or senior project leadership, with proven success overseeing multiple crews or project managers on concurrent projects.
Project Diversity: Direct experience managing a mix of residential, commercial, and public (municipal, school, or government) electrical projects.
Performance Track Record: A history of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.
Leadership Presence: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach, develop, and hold teams accountable at all levels.
Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, with a talent for building and maintaining relationships with clients, partners, and internal teams.
Equity & Compensation Highlights:
Competitive Compensation: A base salary aligned with market rates in northern New Jersey, reflecting your experience and expertise.
Performance Incentives: A bonus structure tied to key performance indicators (KPIs) such as safety records, profitability, schedule adherence, and client satisfaction.
Equity Opportunity: A meaningful equity stake in the company, subject to vesting and shareholder agreements, offering long term financial upside as the firm grows.
Comprehensive Benefits: A benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement plan participation, and a supportive work environment.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
We seek a licensed NJ electrician who has evolved from hands on field work to leading crews, managing project managers, and now seeking an equity backed executive role. The ideal candidate:
- Thrives in the Field: Enjoys regular site visits, direct interaction with foremen and project managers, and a balanced approach to executive and strategic responsibilities.

Which companies sponsor visas for vice presidents in New Jersey?
Financial services firms concentrated in Jersey City, including JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, and Citigroup, are among the most active sponsors for VP-level roles in New Jersey. Pharmaceutical and life sciences employers along the Route 1 corridor, such as Johnson & Johnson, Bristol Myers Squibb, and Cognizant, also regularly sponsor senior professionals at the vice president level through H-1B visa and other work visa categories.
Which visa types are most common for vice president roles in New Jersey?
The H-1B visa is the most common pathway for vice president roles in New Jersey, as most VP positions in finance, technology, and pharmaceuticals qualify as specialty occupations requiring a relevant bachelor's degree or higher. Senior professionals with multinational experience may also be sponsored under the L-1A intracompany transferee visa, which applies to managers and executives transferring from an affiliated foreign office.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most vice president sponsorship jobs?
Jersey City accounts for a significant share of VP sponsorship activity in New Jersey, driven by its concentration of major financial institutions and proximity to New York City. Parsippany, Princeton, and New Brunswick are also active hiring markets, particularly for vice presidents in pharmaceuticals, life sciences, and technology. Edison and Iselin have grown as hubs for VP-level roles at global IT services firms.
How to find vice president visa sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship status, making it straightforward to browse vice president openings in New Jersey where employers are actively willing to sponsor. Because VP roles at this level are not always publicly labeled as sponsorship-eligible, using a dedicated platform like Migrate Mate helps narrow the search to employers who have a verified history of sponsoring senior professionals in New Jersey.
Are there state-specific considerations for vice president visa sponsorship in New Jersey?
New Jersey employers sponsoring H-1B workers for VP-level roles must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements for the specific occupation and geographic area, which are assessed at the county level. New Jersey's dense concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters and regional offices means many VP roles involve cross-border team management, which can support L-1A eligibility for candidates transferring from overseas affiliates. Working with an experienced immigration attorney is advisable for senior-level sponsorship cases.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored vice president jobs in New Jersey?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
