Which companies sponsor visas for cloud solutions engineers in Florida?
Florida-based employers with documented H-1B sponsorship history for cloud and infrastructure roles include IBM, Chewy, Citrix Systems, Deloitte, and Accenture. Large financial services firms headquartered in Jacksonville, such as Fidelity National Information Services (FIS), also sponsor cloud engineering talent. Defense and simulation contractors in Orlando, including Lockheed Martin and L3Harris, sponsor cloud roles tied to government and aerospace workloads.
Which visa types are most common for cloud solutions engineer roles in Florida?
The H-1B is the most common visa for cloud solutions engineers in Florida, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. Australian nationals may qualify for the E-3 visa, which bypasses the H-1B lottery. Canadian and Mexican citizens in eligible technical roles may explore the TN visa under USMCA.
Which cities in Florida have the most cloud solutions engineer sponsorship jobs?
Miami leads Florida for cloud solutions engineer sponsorship activity, driven by its emergence as a technology and fintech hub with strong Latin American business ties. Tampa Bay is the second most active market, anchored by enterprise technology firms and financial services companies. Orlando offers sponsorship opportunities through defense contractors and simulation technology companies, while Jacksonville contributes through its financial services and insurance sector employers.
How to find cloud solutions engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates and filters cloud solutions engineer jobs in Florida by verified visa sponsorship activity, saving you from applying to roles where sponsorship is unavailable. Use Migrate Mate to browse active Florida postings from employers with H-1B and E-3 filing history in cloud engineering. Filtering by state and role category surfaces the most relevant opportunities without sorting through positions that won't support your visa.
Are there any Florida-specific considerations for cloud solutions engineers seeking visa sponsorship?
Florida has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage comparisons when evaluating offer competitiveness across states. The state's growing presence in aerospace, defense, and financial technology means cloud solutions engineers here often work on regulated or government-adjacent systems, which can influence how employers structure sponsorship and security clearance requirements. Florida's large university system, including the University of Florida and University of Miami, also creates a pipeline of international OPT candidates already in the state.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored cloud solutions engineer jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
