Which companies sponsor visas for control electricians in Florida?
Siemens, Honeywell, Lockheed Martin, Emerson Electric, and Rockwell Automation have sponsored control electricians in Florida through H-1B and EB-3 petitions in recent years. Florida's aerospace and defense sector around Brevard County and its utilities and water treatment industry in Tampa and Miami also generate consistent sponsorship activity from mid-sized engineering and systems integration firms.
Which visa types are most common for control electrician roles in Florida?
The EB-3 skilled worker category is the most common immigrant visa pathway for control electricians in Florida, as the role typically does not require a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Some employers pursue H-2B visas for project-based placements. Candidates with engineering degrees supporting their controls work may also encounter H-1B sponsorship, particularly at large defense and automation employers.
Which cities in Florida have the most control electrician sponsorship jobs?
Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, and Miami generate the highest volume of control electrician sponsorship opportunities in Florida. Brevard County, anchored by Kennedy Space Center and its aerospace supply chain, is particularly active for industrial controls talent. Orlando's manufacturing and theme park infrastructure also creates steady demand, while Jacksonville's port and logistics sector adds another concentration of employers.
How to find control electrician visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically to control electrician roles where employers are open to visa sponsorship, making it straightforward to focus your search on Florida positions without sorting through roles that won't sponsor. You can filter by location to target Tampa, Orlando, or the Space Coast directly. Migrate Mate's listings are curated for international candidates, so every result is relevant to your situation.
Are there state-specific considerations for control electricians seeking sponsorship in Florida?
Florida does not require a statewide journeyman or master electrician license for all control electrician roles, but many counties including Miami-Dade and Hillsborough have their own licensing requirements that employers factor into hiring. The Department of Labor prevailing wage determination for your specific county will govern the salary an H-1B or EB-3 sponsor must offer, and wages can differ meaningfully between rural and metropolitan Florida counties.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored control electrician jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
