Which companies sponsor visas for operations interns in Florida?
Florida-based employers with established internship and sponsorship programs for operations roles include Amazon (fulfillment and logistics centers across the state), Carnival Corporation in Miami, Ryder System in Miami, and Lockheed Martin in Orlando. Large healthcare systems like AdventHealth and HCA Florida also run structured operations internships. These employers have HR infrastructure to support OPT and H-1B sponsorship processes.
Which visa types are most common for operations intern roles in Florida?
Most operations interns in Florida work under F-1 OPT (Optional Practical Training), which allows up to 12 months of work authorization after graduation, with a 24-month STEM extension available if the degree qualifies. Some interns use CPT during their program. Full-time conversion after an internship may lead to H-1B sponsorship, though this involves the annual lottery and employer petition requirements.
Which cities in Florida have the most operations intern sponsorship jobs?
Miami leads Florida for operations intern sponsorship opportunities, driven by its logistics, shipping, and corporate headquarters concentration. Orlando follows closely, anchored by aerospace, defense contractors, and hospitality operations. Tampa has a growing tech and financial services sector with operations internship demand. Jacksonville supports supply chain and distribution roles given its port infrastructure and manufacturing presence.
How to find operations intern visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate filters operations intern job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can focus only on Florida employers open to sponsoring international candidates. Rather than sorting through hundreds of unfiltered postings, Migrate Mate surfaces roles where sponsorship is a stated or known employer practice, which is especially useful for OPT students targeting Florida's logistics, aviation, and tech sectors.
Are there state-specific considerations for operations intern sponsorship in Florida?
Florida has no state income tax, which affects net compensation comparisons when evaluating offers. The state's heavy concentration in logistics, aviation, hospitality, and defense creates strong demand for operations interns with quantitative and supply chain backgrounds. Universities like University of Florida, University of Miami, and Florida International University have active employer recruiting relationships that give enrolled international students an advantage when targeting local sponsoring employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored operations intern jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
