Which companies sponsor visas for project management specialists in Florida?
Florida's largest visa sponsors for project management roles include aerospace and defense firms such as Lockheed Martin and L3Harris in the Orlando corridor, healthcare organizations including AdventHealth and HCA Florida, and engineering companies like Jacobs and AECOM active in Tampa and Miami. Technology employers in South Florida's growing tech sector also file H-1B visa petitions for project management specialists with specialized industry backgrounds.
Which visa types are most common for project management specialist roles in Florida?
The H-1B is the most common visa for project management specialists in Florida, provided the role requires at least a bachelor's degree in a related field such as engineering, business, or information technology. Candidates with advanced credentials may also qualify under the O-1A for extraordinary ability. Australians may pursue the E-3 visa, and Canadian and Mexican nationals can explore TN visa status if the role fits qualifying occupation categories.
Which cities in Florida have the most project management specialist sponsorship jobs?
Orlando leads in project management sponsorship activity, driven by its aerospace, defense, and hospitality-technology sectors. Miami and Fort Lauderdale attract PM roles in international trade, finance, and construction. Tampa is a growing hub for healthcare IT and infrastructure project management. Jacksonville sees demand through its naval facilities and logistics industry, while the Space Coast near Brevard County offers aerospace-specific PM opportunities.
How to find project management specialist visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship and lets you filter project management specialist jobs by state, including Florida, so you're only seeing roles from employers open to sponsoring. This saves significant time compared to manually vetting postings. Employers listed on Migrate Mate have documented H-1B filing histories, giving you a more reliable starting point for your Florida job search.
Are there any Florida-specific considerations for project management specialist visa sponsorship?
Florida has no state income tax, which affects how employers benchmark total compensation packages relative to prevailing wage requirements under H-1B rules. The state's concentration of federal contractors in aerospace and defense means many employers are already familiar with immigration compliance processes. Florida universities including the University of Florida and University of Central Florida also feed talent pipelines, and some larger employers actively recruit international graduates from these institutions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project management specialist jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
