One of the region’s largest orthopedic and sports medicine providers, Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute’s world-class team of orthopedic surgeons and sports medicine physicians specialize in conditions and injuries of the spine, hand, upper extremities, foot, ankle and lower extremities, as well as joint replacement, concussions, interventional pain management, bone health and orthopedic trauma. The institute’s Downtown Complex brings the whole spectrum of orthopedic and spine care under one roof and includes an orthopedic specialty hospital featuring 75 private inpatient rooms, 10 advanced OR suites, and a research and innovation center with a bio skills lab and 3D printer. Institute physicians also lead a robust clinical research and education program. An adjacent medical pavilion houses a 63-exam-room outpatient clinic, imaging suite, physical therapy spaces and ambulatory surgery center. The institute also holds official medical roles with multiple athletic teams, sporting events and venues. Provides for protection and security of hospital assets and for the patients, visitors, and guests.
Schedule: Night shift
Responsibilities:
- Maintain order, discipline, and security within assigned areas in the absence of the shift Captain.
- Assists with the training of new officers and ongoing training for current officers.
- Provides input to the Captain for Security Officers’ performance reviews.
- Communicates proper information regarding patient or non-patient needs to security team members.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
- Participates in continual review of Security Policies and Procedures and recommends improvement changes.
- Participates in monthly Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Indicator (QI) and related services.
Qualifications
Education/Training: High school graduate or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word for report writing purposes.
Licensure/Certification: Must obtain a State of Florida Class “D” Security Officer License through the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services within 120 days of hire which must be renewed biannually before the license expires.
- Must obtain Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Certification within 120 days of hire which must be renewed annually before the certification expires.
- Must obtain a Basic Security Officer Certification or higher level of certification through the International Association of Hospital Security and Safety within 120 days of hire and always maintained during employment.
Experience: Two (2) years security experience, to include one (1) year supervisory or leadership experience.
