Which companies sponsor visas for tax associates in Florida?
The Big Four accounting firms, Deloitte, PwC, EY, and KPMG, are the most consistent visa sponsors for tax associates in Florida, with offices in Miami, Tampa, and Orlando. Regional firms like Marcum and BDO also sponsor selectively. Miami-based firms with Latin American client bases frequently hire international candidates given the city's cross-border trade and financial services concentration.
Which visa types are most common for tax associate roles in Florida?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for tax associates in Florida, as the role typically requires at least a bachelor's degree in accounting, taxation, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Many candidates first work under OPT or STEM OPT extensions after graduating from Florida universities before their employer sponsors an H-1B petition during the annual lottery period.
Which cities in Florida have the most tax associate sponsorship jobs?
Miami leads Florida for tax associate sponsorship activity, driven by its international business environment, high concentration of multinational corporations, and proximity to Latin American markets. Tampa follows closely, with growing professional services demand tied to financial firms and corporate headquarters relocating from higher-tax states. Orlando has a smaller but active market supported by hospitality, real estate, and healthcare industry clients.
How to find tax associate visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship and filters tax associate roles in Florida by sponsorship history, making it easier to identify employers who have sponsored similar positions before. Rather than sorting through thousands of general listings, you can search Migrate Mate for tax associate openings in Miami, Tampa, and Orlando and focus your applications on firms with a documented track record of sponsoring international hires.
Are there state-specific factors that affect tax associate hiring and sponsorship in Florida?
Florida's absence of a state income tax is a major draw for corporations and high-net-worth individuals, which directly supports demand for tax associates specializing in federal, international, and multistate taxation. Florida International University, the University of Florida, and the University of Miami produce accounting graduates who enter the local talent pool, and firms recruiting internationally often do so to fill specialized roles in transfer pricing, SALT, or international tax where local supply is limited.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored tax associate jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
