Which companies sponsor visas for technical managers in Florida?
Several large Florida employers have consistent records of sponsoring H-1B visas for technical managers. These include Lockheed Martin and L3Harris in the Space Coast defense corridor, Citigroup and Raymond James in Tampa and Miami, and technology firms like Chewy and Ultimate Kronos Group. Enterprise healthcare systems such as AdventHealth and HCA Florida also sponsor technical management roles in IT infrastructure and systems engineering.
Which visa types are most common for technical manager roles in Florida?
The H-1B is the most frequently used visa category for technical managers in Florida, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field. Candidates already holding L-1A status at a multinational may transfer to a Florida office in a managerial capacity. Nationals from Australia and certain treaty countries may also qualify for E-3 visa or TN visas depending on citizenship and role specifics.
Which cities in Florida have the most technical manager sponsorship jobs?
Miami leads in financial technology and enterprise software, drawing technical managers into roles at banks, fintechs, and cloud services firms. Tampa has a strong presence in cybersecurity, healthcare IT, and financial services. Orlando concentrates technical management hiring across simulation, defense technology, and hospitality tech companies. The Melbourne and Titusville corridor on the Space Coast supports significant aerospace and systems engineering management demand.
How to find technical manager visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to find technical manager roles in Florida without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. You can narrow results by city or metro area to focus on Miami, Tampa, or Orlando. Because technical manager roles vary widely by industry in Florida, browsing by sector on Migrate Mate helps match your background to the right employer type.
Are there state-specific considerations for technical manager sponsorship in Florida?
Florida has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage comparisons since the DOL wage determination does not account for this difference but candidates often factor it into total compensation. Florida's growing university system, including the University of Florida and University of Central Florida, produces a strong pipeline of technical talent, meaning competition for sponsored roles can be high. Employers in defense and aerospace may also require security clearance eligibility, which can affect visa holders.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical manager jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
