Which companies sponsor visas for technical managers in Wisconsin?
Rockwell Automation in Milwaukee is among the most active sponsors for technical managers in Wisconsin, given its industrial automation focus. Epic Systems in Verona regularly sponsors technical leadership roles tied to healthcare software. Other notable sponsors include Northwestern Mutual, Johnson Controls, and Exact Sciences, all of which have filed Labor Condition Applications for technical manager positions.
Which visa types are most common for technical manager roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B visa is the most common pathway for technical managers in Wisconsin, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, or a related field, satisfying the specialty occupation requirement. Multinational candidates transferring from a parent or affiliate company may qualify for the L-1A visa, which covers managerial and executive transfers.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most technical manager sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee leads Wisconsin for technical manager sponsorship activity, supported by its manufacturing technology and financial services sectors. Madison follows closely, driven by Epic Systems and a cluster of university-adjacent technology firms. Green Bay and Waukesha also see sponsorship activity in industrial and healthcare technology, though at a lower volume than the two major metro areas.
How to find technical manager visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse technical manager openings in Wisconsin without sorting through roles that don't offer sponsorship. You can filter by state and job category to surface positions from Wisconsin employers who have a documented history of sponsoring technical managers, saving significant time in your search.
Are there state-specific considerations for technical managers seeking sponsorship in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin's prevailing wage requirements for sponsored roles are set by the Department of Labor based on the specific county and occupation code, so compensation levels vary between Milwaukee, Madison, and smaller markets. The state's strong manufacturing and healthcare IT pipelines, partly fed by the University of Wisconsin system, mean employers in these sectors are more accustomed to sponsorship processes than those in other industries.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical manager jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
