Which companies sponsor visas for NPs in Georgia?
Emory Healthcare, Piedmont Healthcare, WellStar Health System, Grady Health System, and Northside Hospital are among Georgia's largest health systems with documented H-1B sponsorship activity for advanced practice providers. Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) across rural Georgia also sponsor NPs, particularly for primary care roles in Health Professional Shortage Areas, where hiring need is consistently high.
Which visa types are most common for NP roles in Georgia?
H-1B is the most common visa for NPs in Georgia, as nurse practitioner roles typically qualify as specialty occupations requiring a graduate-level degree. EB-3 is the standard immigrant visa pathway for permanent sponsorship. NPs with extraordinary recognition in their specialty may qualify for O-1 visa. TN visas cover Canadian and Mexican citizens in qualifying nursing roles. Each pathway has distinct employer obligations and timelines.
Which cities in Georgia have the most NP sponsorship jobs?
Atlanta accounts for the majority of NP sponsorship activity in Georgia, driven by its concentration of large academic medical centers and hospital networks. Augusta, home to Augusta University Health and the AU Medical Center, is a secondary hub. Savannah, Macon, and Columbus also have hospital systems that hire NPs, and rural counties across the state see ongoing demand through federally supported primary care programs.
How to find np visa sponsorship jobs in Georgia?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically to roles where employers have indicated visa sponsorship availability, making it more efficient than broad searches for NP roles in Georgia. You can filter by state and role type to surface positions at health systems, FQHCs, and specialty practices across Atlanta and beyond. Migrate Mate also surfaces employer sponsorship history, which helps you prioritize outreach to organizations with an established record of sponsoring international advanced practice providers.
Are there state-specific considerations for NP sponsorship in Georgia?
Georgia grants NPs full practice authority, which broadens the range of practice settings that can independently sponsor international candidates, including independent clinics and telehealth providers, not only hospitals. Georgia's rural Health Professional Shortage Area designations create additional hiring incentives for employers in underserved counties. NPs sponsored under H-1B must meet prevailing wage requirements set by the Department of Labor for the specific metro or non-metro area where they practice.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored np jobs in Georgia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
