Which companies sponsor visas for NPs in Nevada?
Nevada's largest NP visa sponsors include Renown Health and Northern Nevada Medical Center in Reno, along with Valley Health System, University Medical Center, and Dignity Health in Las Vegas. Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and Indian Health Service facilities serving rural Nevada communities have also historically sponsored foreign-trained nurse practitioners, often through H-1B or EB-3 pathways.
Which visa types are most common for NP roles in Nevada?
The H-1B is the most common visa for NPs in Nevada, as nurse practitioner positions typically qualify as specialty occupations requiring a graduate-level degree. EB-3 immigrant visas are also used for permanent sponsorship. Some NPs from specific countries may be eligible for the TN visa under USMCA (Canada and Mexico) or the E-3 visa (Australia), depending on nationality and employer willingness.
Which cities in Nevada have the most NP sponsorship jobs?
Las Vegas accounts for the large majority of NP job openings in Nevada, driven by its dense population and concentration of hospital systems, urgent care networks, and specialty clinics. Reno is the second-strongest market, particularly in primary care and hospital-based roles. Carson City and rural areas like Elko and Pahrump also post NP openings, often with added incentives tied to health provider shortage designations.
How to find np visa sponsorship jobs in Nevada?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters NP roles in Nevada by visa sponsorship availability, saving you from sorting through listings that won't work for your status. Search by state and role type to surface employers actively open to H-1B or other work visa sponsorship. Nevada's health systems post regularly, and Migrate Mate updates listings to reflect current openings across Las Vegas, Reno, and beyond.
Are there state-specific factors NPs should know when pursuing sponsorship in Nevada?
Nevada has a full practice authority model, meaning NPs can diagnose and prescribe independently without physician oversight, which broadens the range of employers willing to hire and sponsor them. Nevada also has a significant number of Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs), qualifying some positions for National Health Service Corps loan repayment, which can make rural NP roles more attractive even when sponsorship timelines are longer.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored np jobs in Nevada?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
