Which companies sponsor visas for NPs in Kansas?
The University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City, Stormont Vail Health in Topeka, and Ascension Via Christi in Wichita are among the larger health systems in Kansas that have sponsored work visas for advanced practice providers. Federally Qualified Health Centers across rural Kansas also sponsor international NPs, as they operate in designated Health Professional Shortage Areas with consistent recruitment needs.
Which visa types are most common for NP roles in Kansas?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for nurse practitioners in Kansas, as NP roles typically qualify as specialty occupations requiring a graduate-level nursing degree. Some NPs enter through the TN visa if they are Canadian or Mexican citizens, which allows qualifying registered nurses and advanced practice nurses to work under USMCA provisions. EB-3 immigrant visa sponsorship is also available through certain health systems for long-term placement.
Which cities in Kansas have the most NP sponsorship jobs?
Wichita has the highest concentration of NP sponsorship opportunities in Kansas, driven by its size and hospital density, including Ascension Via Christi and Wesley Medical Center. Kansas City (Kansas side) follows closely, anchored by The University of Kansas Health System. Topeka, as the state capital, offers opportunities through Stormont Vail Health. Rural areas across western and central Kansas also have recurring openings due to persistent provider shortages.
How to find np visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find NP visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas, as the platform filters roles specifically by sponsorship availability, saving you from sorting through postings that don't apply to international candidates. You can filter by state and role type to surface Kansas-based NP positions at health systems, rural clinics, and FQHCs that have a documented history of sponsoring work visas for advanced practice providers.
Are there state-specific factors that affect NP visa sponsorship in Kansas?
Kansas grants NPs full practice authority, meaning they can evaluate, diagnose, and prescribe independently without a physician collaboration agreement. This makes Kansas positions attractive to internationally trained NPs and broadens the range of employers who can hire them, including independent clinics and rural health centers that may not have on-site physician oversight. The state's rural shortage designations also make some positions eligible for federal workforce incentive programs, which can influence employer willingness to sponsor.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored np jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
