Which companies sponsor visas for NPs in Colorado?
UCHealth, Centura Health, SCL Health (now Intermountain Health), and the Veterans Affairs Eastern Colorado Health Care System are among the larger health systems in Colorado known to sponsor work visas for nurse practitioners. Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) operating across the state also have a history of sponsoring internationally trained NPs, particularly in underserved rural and urban areas.
Which visa types are most common for NP roles in Colorado?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for nurse practitioners in Colorado, as NP roles generally qualify as specialty occupations requiring a graduate-level degree. Canadian-licensed NPs may also qualify for TN status under the USMCA, which has no annual cap and is processed at the border or port of entry. Some NPs pursue EB-3 immigrant visa sponsorship through larger health systems offering permanent placement.
Which cities in Colorado have the most NP sponsorship jobs?
Denver and its suburbs, including Aurora and Lakewood, account for the largest share of NP sponsorship opportunities due to the concentration of major hospital systems and specialty clinics. Colorado Springs has a growing healthcare market driven by military and civilian population growth. Pueblo, Grand Junction, and smaller Front Range communities also post NP openings, often with additional incentives tied to rural or underserved designations.
How to find np visa sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate is designed specifically for international healthcare professionals seeking visa sponsorship in the U.S. You can filter NP roles by Colorado and sort by employers with a confirmed sponsorship history. Because many NP sponsorship positions are not prominently labeled on general job boards, using a platform like Migrate Mate that focuses on sponsorship-verified listings saves significant research time compared to broad searches.
Are there state-specific factors that affect NP visa sponsorship in Colorado?
Colorado is a full-practice authority state, meaning NPs can assess, diagnose, and prescribe independently without a physician supervisory agreement. This expands the range of employers who can realistically sponsor an NP position, including independent clinics and rural health practices that may not have on-site physician oversight. Colorado's Department of Regulatory Agencies licenses NPs, and international applicants must hold an active APRN license before most employers will initiate the H-1B petition process.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored np jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
