Which companies sponsor visas for NPs in Oklahoma?
INTEGRIS Health, OU Health, Ascension St. John, and SSM Health are among the larger Oklahoma employers with histories of sponsoring international clinical staff. Federally Qualified Health Centers and rural critical access hospitals also sponsor NPs more frequently than many private practices, driven by persistent provider shortages in underserved Oklahoma communities.
Which visa types are most common for NP roles in Oklahoma?
The H-1B is the most common visa for NPs in Oklahoma, as nurse practitioner roles typically qualify as specialty occupations requiring a graduate-level degree. Canadian and Mexican NPs may qualify for TN status under the USMCA professional list. Some NPs with exceptional clinical or research credentials explore the O-1A, though it requires substantial documented achievement.
Which cities in Oklahoma have the most NP sponsorship jobs?
Oklahoma City and Tulsa concentrate the majority of NP sponsorship opportunities, anchored by large academic medical centers and hospital networks. However, rural areas and smaller cities such as Lawton, Enid, and Muskogee often have urgent NP shortages, and employers there may be more open to sponsorship given the difficulty of recruiting domestic candidates.
How to find np visa sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates and filters NP roles in Oklahoma by visa sponsorship status, so you're not sifting through listings that won't support work authorization. Search by city or specialty to identify which Oklahoma health systems are actively hiring sponsored NPs, then use the employer information to target your applications directly.
Are there state-specific factors that affect NP visa sponsorship in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma grants NPs full practice authority, meaning they can practice independently without a physician collaboration agreement. This makes NP roles easier to classify as autonomous specialty occupations for H-1B purposes. The state's high proportion of rural and underserved designations also means many Oklahoma employers qualify for Conrad 30 and National Interest Waiver pathways relevant to internationally trained clinicians.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored np jobs in Oklahoma?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
