Which companies sponsor visas for nurse practitioners in Georgia?
Emory Healthcare, Wellstar Health System, Piedmont Health, Grady Health System, and Augusta University Health are among the Georgia employers that have sponsored visas for advanced practice nurses. Large hospital networks and federally qualified health centers are the most active sponsors, as they have dedicated HR and legal infrastructure to support the H-1B visa petition process for nurse practitioners.
Which visa types are most common for nurse practitioner roles in Georgia?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for nurse practitioners in Georgia, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a graduate-level nursing degree. Some internationally trained NPs also pursue EB-3 immigrant visas through employer-sponsored PERM labor certification. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for the TN visa under the USMCA, which lists registered nurses as an eligible category.
Which cities in Georgia have the most nurse practitioner sponsorship jobs?
Atlanta accounts for the largest concentration of nurse practitioner sponsorship opportunities in Georgia, driven by the density of major hospital systems and specialty clinics in the metro area. Augusta has significant demand through Augusta University Health and its academic medical center. Savannah, Macon, and Columbus also see employer interest, particularly for primary care and family practice NPs serving underserved and rural communities in those regions.
How to find nurse practitioner visa sponsorship jobs in Georgia?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship in the United States. You can filter directly for nurse practitioner roles in Georgia to see positions from employers willing to sponsor. This saves significant time compared to manually screening postings, since Migrate Mate focuses exclusively on sponsorship-eligible opportunities rather than general healthcare listings that rarely clarify immigration support.
Are there state-specific considerations for nurse practitioners seeking visa sponsorship in Georgia?
Georgia is a full-practice authority state for nurse practitioners, meaning NPs can evaluate, diagnose, and prescribe without a mandatory physician collaboration agreement. This expands the range of employer settings willing to hire and sponsor NPs, including independent clinics and rural health facilities. Georgia also has federally designated Health Professional Shortage Areas across rural counties, which can increase employer motivation to pursue sponsorship when domestic candidates are unavailable.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored nurse practitioner jobs in Georgia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
