Which companies sponsor visas for senior cybersecurity engineers in Georgia?
Defense and government contractors including Lockheed Martin, Leidos, and SAIC have a strong presence in Georgia and have sponsored visas for senior cybersecurity engineers. Major financial institutions headquartered or operating out of Atlanta, such as NCR Voyix and Fiserv, also hire for these roles. Consulting firms like Deloitte and Accenture with Atlanta offices round out the sponsoring employer pool.
Which visa types are most common for senior cybersecurity engineer roles in Georgia?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for senior cybersecurity engineers in Georgia, as the role consistently meets USCIS specialty occupation standards given the degree requirements in computer science, information security, or a related field. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for the TN visa under the 'Computer Systems Analyst' category. Those with extraordinary recognition in the field sometimes pursue the O-1A.
Which cities in Georgia have the most senior cybersecurity engineer sponsorship jobs?
Atlanta is by far the primary market for senior cybersecurity engineer sponsorship jobs in Georgia, with demand concentrated in Midtown, Buckhead, and the northern suburbs of Alpharetta and Dunwoody. Augusta has a distinct cluster driven by proximity to Fort Eisenhower, home to U.S. Cyber Command training operations, which indirectly supports contractor hiring in the area.
How to find senior cybersecurity engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Georgia?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to search for senior cybersecurity engineer roles in Georgia without manually screening each posting. You can filter by location to focus on Atlanta, Augusta, or other Georgia markets, and the platform surfaces employers that have a documented history of sponsoring international candidates for technical security positions.
Are there any Georgia-specific considerations for senior cybersecurity engineers seeking sponsorship?
Georgia's cybersecurity sector has a notable defense and government contracting component, and some positions at contractors working on classified programs may require U.S. security clearances that are not available to visa holders. Candidates should verify clearance requirements before applying. Georgia Tech's cybersecurity programs also produce a strong domestic pipeline, which increases competition, making demonstrated specialization in areas like cloud security or OT security more valuable for sponsored candidates.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored senior cybersecurity engineer jobs in Georgia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
