Which companies sponsor visas for senior cybersecurity engineers in Texas?
Dell Technologies in Round Rock, AT&T in Dallas, USAA in San Antonio, Raytheon Technologies in McKinney, and Texas Instruments are among the Texas employers with documented H-1B sponsorship histories for cybersecurity roles. Defense contractors and financial services firms in the state tend to hire senior-level security engineers at higher volumes than smaller technology companies.
Which cities in Texas have the most senior cybersecurity engineer sponsorship jobs?
Dallas-Fort Worth leads Texas for sponsored cybersecurity roles, driven by its concentration of financial services firms, telecom companies, and defense contractors. Austin is a strong second, with its technology sector growing steadily. San Antonio has a distinct profile tied to military cybersecurity and federal contractor work, particularly around Joint Base San Antonio and USAA's headquarters.
Which visa types are most common for senior cybersecurity engineer roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for senior cybersecurity engineers in Texas, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or a related field. Some employers also sponsor L-1 transfers for internal moves and, less commonly, O-1 visas for applicants with demonstrated exceptional expertise in the field.
How to find senior cybersecurity engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship eligibility, making it easier to identify senior cybersecurity engineer openings in Texas without sorting through roles that won't support an H-1B or similar category. You can filter by state and role to surface positions at Texas-based employers in the defense, financial services, and technology sectors that have active sponsorship histories.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for senior cybersecurity engineers seeking visa sponsorship?
Texas's defense and federal contracting sector introduces a complication: many senior cybersecurity roles require U.S. security clearances, which are generally not available to foreign nationals without permanent resident status. Candidates should confirm that a target role does not require clearance before investing in the application process. Roles at commercial employers in Austin and Dallas typically carry fewer clearance requirements than positions tied to defense contracts in San Antonio.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored senior cybersecurity engineer jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
