Which companies sponsor visas for senior cybersecurity engineers in Massachusetts?
Major sponsors in Massachusetts include Raytheon Technologies, MIT Lincoln Laboratory, Fidelity Investments, State Street, Biogen, HubSpot, and Liberty Mutual. Large defense contractors along the Route 128 corridor and financial institutions in Boston's Financial District have established H-1B visa sponsorship histories. University-affiliated research employers like Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard also sponsor senior security roles.
Which visa types are most common for senior cybersecurity engineer roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for senior cybersecurity engineers in Massachusetts, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or a related field. Candidates with extraordinary achievement may explore the O-1A. Those with advanced degrees may be eligible for EB-2 or EB-1B immigrant visa pathways through employer sponsorship.
How to find senior cybersecurity engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse senior cybersecurity engineer roles in Massachusetts without sifting through positions that don't sponsor. You can search by state and role to see active openings from Massachusetts employers, including companies in Boston, Cambridge, and the Route 128 technology corridor that have a track record of sponsoring international candidates.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most senior cybersecurity engineer sponsorship jobs?
Boston and Cambridge account for the largest share of senior cybersecurity engineering openings, driven by the financial services, biotech, and technology sectors concentrated there. Waltham, Lexington, and Bedford along the Route 128 corridor are also significant hubs, particularly for defense and aerospace employers like Raytheon and MIT Lincoln Laboratory. Lowell and Worcester have a smaller but growing presence through manufacturing and healthcare security roles.
Are there any Massachusetts-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for senior cybersecurity engineers?
Massachusetts employers sponsoring H-1B workers must pay the Department of Labor prevailing wage for the specific role and geographic area, which is calculated at the county level. Boston's high concentration of defense contractors means some senior cybersecurity roles require security clearances, which can complicate sponsorship for foreign nationals. Massachusetts' strong university pipeline, particularly from MIT, Northeastern, and Boston University, means employers are familiar with sponsoring international graduates into senior-track security positions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored senior cybersecurity engineer jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
