Which companies in Georgia sponsor visas for software systems engineers?
Large technology and finance employers in Georgia with documented H-1B sponsorship histories include NCR Voyix, Fiserv, Delta Air Lines, Cox Enterprises, Global Payments, and IBM's Atlanta offices. Defense contractors such as Leidos and SAIC, which maintain significant Georgia presences, also sponsor for systems engineering roles. Sponsorship patterns vary by team, project, and hiring cycle, so confirming directly with each employer is always advisable.
Which visa types are most common for software systems engineer roles in Georgia?
The H-1B is the most common visa for software systems engineers in Georgia, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, systems engineering, or a related field. L-1B visas apply when an engineer transfers from an overseas office of a multinational employer. OPT and STEM OPT are also widely used by Georgia Tech and University of Georgia graduates before transitioning to employer-sponsored status.
Which cities in Georgia have the most software systems engineer sponsorship jobs?
Atlanta accounts for the large majority of software systems engineer sponsorship jobs in Georgia, particularly in Midtown, Buckhead, and the Perimeter Center area. Alpharetta has a dense cluster of fintech and enterprise software companies. Peachtree Corners, branded as a technology park city, hosts a growing number of tech employers. Savannah sees some activity tied to manufacturing technology and logistics systems, though at a much smaller scale than metro Atlanta.
How to find software systems engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Georgia?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship roles, including software systems engineer positions in Georgia. You can filter by state and role to see verified sponsorship-eligible openings from employers with active H-1B filing histories in the state. Because Georgia's sponsoring employers span fintech, aviation, retail technology, and defense sectors, filtering by industry on Migrate Mate helps narrow the search to companies that match your background.
Are there state-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for software systems engineers in Georgia?
Georgia does not impose state-level visa sponsorship requirements beyond federal standards, but a few practical factors matter. Employers filing Labor Condition Applications must meet the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for the specific job location, which differs between Atlanta and smaller Georgia markets. Georgia Tech's strong international graduate pipeline means Atlanta employers are generally familiar with sponsorship processes. Defense-adjacent roles in Georgia may require security clearances that limit sponsorship eligibility for certain visa holders.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored software systems engineer jobs in Georgia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
