Which companies in Hawaii sponsor visas for compliance analysts?
Financial institutions are the most active sponsors, including First Hawaiian Bank, Bank of Hawaii, and Central Pacific Bank. Federal contractors and defense-adjacent firms operating near Pearl Harbor and Hickam also hire compliance analysts with sponsorship. Healthcare networks like Hawaii Pacific Health and government-affiliated organizations periodically post sponsored roles, particularly for candidates with regulatory, audit, or risk management backgrounds.
Which visa types are most common for compliance analyst roles in Hawaii?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for compliance analysts in Hawaii, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field. Candidates with qualifying degrees from certain countries may also be eligible for the TN visa (Canadians and Mexicans) or the E-3 visa (Australians), both of which avoid the H-1B lottery.
Which cities in Hawaii have the most compliance analyst sponsorship jobs?
Honolulu accounts for the significant majority of compliance analyst sponsorship opportunities in Hawaii. The city's concentration of major banks, healthcare systems, federal agencies, and defense contractors makes it the primary hiring hub. Roles occasionally appear in other areas of Oahu, but compliance positions with visa sponsorship outside Honolulu are uncommon given the state's centralized business activity.
How to find compliance analyst visa sponsorship jobs in Hawaii?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles offering visa sponsorship, making it straightforward to search compliance analyst positions in Hawaii without sifting through employers who don't sponsor. You can filter by state and role to see which Hawaii employers are actively hiring. Given how concentrated sponsorship opportunities are in Honolulu's financial and healthcare sectors, setting up alerts on Migrate Mate for new postings is a practical approach.
Are there any Hawaii-specific considerations for compliance analysts seeking visa sponsorship?
Hawaii's cost of living is among the highest in the United States, which influences the prevailing wage determinations that employers must meet when filing H-1B Labor Condition Applications. Candidates should be aware that the state's relatively small market means fewer total openings than mainland hubs. The University of Hawaii's business and law programs also produce local talent, so sponsored candidates typically need specialized experience in areas like BSA/AML compliance, healthcare regulation, or federal contracting to be competitive.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored compliance analyst jobs in Hawaii?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
