Which companies sponsor visas for program development managers in Hawaii?
Healthcare organizations including Kaiser Permanente Hawaii and Hawaii Pacific Health have sponsored program development managers in the past. Federal contractors with operations tied to Pacific Command, along with the University of Hawaii system and large nonprofits like Aloha United Way, represent additional sponsoring employer categories. Sponsorship availability depends on each organization's specific hiring needs and internal immigration policies at the time of application.
Which visa types are most common for program development manager roles in Hawaii?
The H-1B is the most frequently used visa for program development managers, since the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specialized field such as public administration, organizational development, or a related discipline. Candidates from Australia may qualify for the E-3 visa. Those with extraordinary ability or exceptional career records may explore the O-1. Employer willingness to sponsor determines which pathway is ultimately pursued.
Which cities in Hawaii have the most program development manager sponsorship jobs?
Honolulu accounts for the overwhelming majority of program development manager positions in Hawaii, given its concentration of hospital systems, federal agencies, universities, and large nonprofits. Hilo on the Big Island has a smaller but notable cluster of roles connected to the University of Hawaii at Hilo and community health organizations. Outside these two cities, sponsorship opportunities are significantly less common.
How to find program development manager visa sponsorship jobs in Hawaii?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search program development manager roles in Hawaii without sifting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. The platform aggregates openings from healthcare systems, nonprofits, universities, and other Hawaii employers who have indicated willingness to sponsor. Filtering by state and role title on Migrate Mate gives you a focused, relevant results set for this specific search.
Are there state-specific considerations for program development manager visa sponsorship in Hawaii?
Hawaii's geographic isolation means a smaller overall job market compared to mainland states, so the pool of sponsoring employers for program development managers is more concentrated. The University of Hawaii system and federally funded Pacific health initiatives create consistent demand. Because Hawaii follows federal prevailing wage determinations, employers must meet Department of Labor wage requirements for the role and region when filing an H-1B Labor Condition Application.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program development manager jobs in Hawaii?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
