Which companies sponsor visas for program development managers in South Carolina?
Healthcare systems and large manufacturers are the most active sponsors for program development manager roles in South Carolina. Prisma Health, MUSC Health, and Greenville Health System hire in this capacity, as do major manufacturers like Michelin, BMW Manufacturing, and Boeing in North Charleston. State government agencies and research universities such as the University of South Carolina and Clemson University also sponsor for qualifying program development positions.
Which visa types are most common for program development manager roles in South Carolina?
The H-1B is the most common visa for program development managers in South Carolina, as these roles typically require a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, public administration, or a technical discipline, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Some positions within academic medical centers or universities may qualify for cap-exempt H-1B petitions. Candidates with prior multinational employer experience may also explore the L-1A intracompany transferee category.
Which cities in South Carolina have the most program development manager sponsorship jobs?
Columbia leads in program development manager sponsorship activity, driven by state government agencies, MUSC facilities, and the University of South Carolina. Charleston is growing quickly, supported by Boeing's North Charleston campus, expanding tech firms, and healthcare employers. Greenville has emerged as a strong hub due to BMW Manufacturing's international operations and Prisma Health's regional presence, making it a practical option for candidates seeking sponsorship in this role.
How to find program development manager visa sponsorship jobs in South Carolina?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to find program development manager roles in South Carolina without sorting through employers who don't sponsor. You can search by state and role to see active openings from healthcare systems, manufacturers, and universities across Columbia, Charleston, and Greenville. This focused approach saves time compared to browsing general job boards where sponsorship status is rarely disclosed upfront.
Are there state-specific or role-specific considerations for program development managers seeking sponsorship in South Carolina?
South Carolina's growing advanced manufacturing sector, anchored by BMW in Greer and Boeing in North Charleston, creates consistent demand for program development managers with international backgrounds. Employers filing H-1B petitions must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements for the specific occupation and geographic area, which vary between Columbia, Greenville, and Charleston metro regions. Candidates connected to Clemson University or the University of South Carolina research networks may find additional pathways through cap-exempt institutional employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program development manager jobs in South Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
