Which companies sponsor visas for program development managers in Rhode Island?
Rhode Island's most active visa sponsors for program management roles include Lifespan Health System, Care New England, Brown University, the University of Rhode Island, and defense contractors such as Raytheon and General Dynamics. Nonprofit organizations and state government-affiliated agencies also hire program development managers and have sponsored H-1B visa workers, though sponsorship frequency varies significantly by employer and hiring cycle.
Which visa types are most common for program development manager roles in Rhode Island?
The H-1B is the most common visa for program development managers in Rhode Island, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a relevant bachelor's degree or higher. Candidates from Canada or Mexico may qualify for the TN visa under the NAFTA/USMCA professional categories. Those with exceptional credentials in program or organizational leadership may explore the O-1A, though that pathway requires substantial documented achievement.
How to find program development manager visa sponsorship jobs in Rhode Island?
Migrate Mate filters program development manager jobs in Rhode Island specifically by visa sponsorship history, saving you from manually researching which employers have sponsored before. Rather than sorting through general job postings where sponsorship is unclear, Migrate Mate surfaces roles at organizations like Lifespan, Brown University, and Rhode Island's nonprofit sector that have an established track record of sponsoring international candidates in program management functions.
Which cities in Rhode Island have the most program development manager sponsorship jobs?
Providence is by far the strongest market for program development manager roles in Rhode Island, anchored by its concentration of hospitals, universities, and professional services firms. Pawtucket and East Providence also see activity, particularly in healthcare administration and community development organizations. Warwick, near T.F. Green Airport and home to several corporate offices, is a secondary market worth monitoring for program management openings.
Are there state-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for program development managers in Rhode Island?
Rhode Island's relatively small size means the sponsoring employer pool is narrower than in states like Massachusetts or New York, so competition for sponsored roles can be meaningful. The state's strength in healthcare, higher education, and federally funded research creates consistent demand for program managers with specialized backgrounds. Brown University and URI both have international hiring infrastructure, making them practical starting points for candidates seeking institutionally experienced sponsors.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program development manager jobs in Rhode Island?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
