Which companies in Iowa sponsor visas for program development managers?
Healthcare organizations including UnityPoint Health and MercyOne, insurance and financial services firms headquartered in Des Moines such as Principal Financial Group and Wellmark, and the University of Iowa system have all filed for visa sponsorship on behalf of program development and management professionals. Large technology and agricultural companies operating in Iowa also appear in federal labor condition application records for similar roles.
Which visa types are most common for program development manager roles in Iowa?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for program development managers in Iowa, as these roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field such as business administration, public health, or a technical discipline. Candidates already holding L-1 status with a multinational employer or an O-1 for demonstrated achievement in their field may also find sponsoring employers in Iowa's healthcare and financial services sectors.
Which cities in Iowa have the most program development manager sponsorship jobs?
Des Moines generates the highest volume of program development manager sponsorship activity in Iowa, driven by its concentration of insurance, financial services, and healthcare headquarters. Cedar Rapids and Iowa City follow, with Iowa City particularly active due to the University of Iowa and its affiliated hospital system. Davenport, as part of the Quad Cities metro, also produces occasional openings tied to healthcare networks and manufacturing operations.
How to find program development manager visa sponsorship jobs in Iowa?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship and lets you filter program development manager roles by state, including Iowa. Rather than sorting through general job listings where sponsorship status is unclear, Migrate Mate surfaces positions from employers with verified sponsorship activity. This is particularly useful for narrowing your search to Iowa's healthcare, education, and financial services sectors where these roles are most active.
Are there any state-specific considerations for program development managers seeking sponsorship in Iowa?
Iowa's sponsoring employers are heavily concentrated in regulated industries like healthcare and insurance, which means program development managers often need demonstrated experience aligning with compliance-heavy program structures. The University of Iowa and Iowa State University serve as notable talent pipelines, and some international graduates from these institutions transition into sponsored roles locally. Employers in Iowa filing H-1B petitions must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements for the specific metro area where the work is performed.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program development manager jobs in Iowa?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
