Which companies sponsor visas for program development managers in New York?
New York's largest visa sponsors for program development manager roles include healthcare systems such as NYC Health + Hospitals and Northwell Health, major universities including Columbia University and NYU, and large nonprofits operating across the five boroughs. Tech companies in the Hudson Yards and Midtown corridors also sponsor this role when it sits within product or operations teams. Sponsorship patterns vary significantly by employer size and sector.
Which visa types are most common for program development manager roles in New York?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for program development managers in New York, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific related field such as public administration, education, business, or a relevant technical discipline. Some employers also use the O-1A for candidates with demonstrated achievements. Australians may qualify for the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and allows year-round applications.
Which cities in New York have the most program development manager sponsorship jobs?
New York City accounts for the large majority of program development manager sponsorship jobs in the state, with concentrations in Manhattan's nonprofit corridor, healthcare campuses in Brooklyn and the Bronx, and university hubs across all five boroughs. Albany has a secondary cluster tied to state government contractors and policy organizations. Buffalo and Rochester have smaller but active markets driven by healthcare systems and regional universities.
How to find program development manager visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can browse program development manager openings in New York without sorting through roles that don't sponsor. The platform surfaces positions from nonprofits, healthcare networks, and education institutions across New York City, Albany, and Buffalo, which are the primary hiring hubs for this role in the state. Searching by role and state on Migrate Mate saves significant time compared to unfiltered job searches.
Are there state-specific considerations for program development manager sponsorship in New York?
New York's high concentration of nonprofits and universities means many sponsoring employers are cap-exempt under H-1B rules, allowing petitions to be filed year-round outside the annual lottery. This is particularly relevant for program development managers joining academic medical centers or 501(c)(3) organizations. New York also has active Department of Labor oversight, so employers filing Labor Condition Applications must meet prevailing wage standards for the specific metro area where the role is based.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program development manager jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
