Which companies in Oklahoma sponsor visas for program development managers?
Energy and aerospace employers lead sponsorship activity for program development managers in Oklahoma. Williams Companies and ONEOK in Tulsa have established immigration programs for senior roles, as does BOK Financial in banking. Healthcare systems including Integris Health and Mercy Health have also sponsored program management positions. Sponsorship is more common at large employers with dedicated HR and legal infrastructure than at smaller regional firms.
Which visa types are most common for program development manager roles in Oklahoma?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for program development managers in Oklahoma, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field and qualifies as a specialty occupation. Candidates with significant international experience may also pursue the O-1A for extraordinary ability. Intracompany transferees at multinationals operating in Tulsa or Oklahoma City may qualify for the L-1A managerial category.
Which cities in Oklahoma have the most program development manager sponsorship jobs?
Oklahoma City and Tulsa account for the overwhelming majority of program development manager sponsorship opportunities in the state. Tulsa's energy sector, anchored by pipeline and midstream companies, generates consistent demand for senior program roles. Oklahoma City draws from state government contractors, healthcare networks, and aviation and defense employers. Are there state-specific considerations for program development managers seeking sponsorship in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma's economy is heavily weighted toward energy, aerospace, and healthcare, so program development manager roles here often require sector-specific experience that strengthens a sponsorship case. Candidates connected to University of Oklahoma or Oklahoma State University research pipelines may find additional pathways through OPT-to-sponsorship transitions with affiliated employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program development manager jobs in Oklahoma?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
