Which companies in Kansas sponsor visas for program development managers?
Kansas employers with a track record of sponsoring work visas for management roles include Spirit AeroSystems and Textron Aviation in Wichita, along with healthcare technology firms in the Kansas City metro such as Cerner and Netsmart Technologies. State universities, including the University of Kansas and Kansas State University, also sponsor program development managers for research administration and grant-funded program roles.
Which visa types are most common for program development manager roles in Kansas?
The H-1B is the most common visa for program development managers in Kansas, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as business administration, public administration, or a technical discipline. Candidates with advanced degrees may also pursue the H-1B under the advanced degree exemption. Multinational professionals transferring within an organization may qualify for the L-1A visa if the role involves managerial responsibilities.
Which cities in Kansas have the most program development manager sponsorship jobs?
Wichita generates the most program development manager opportunities in Kansas, driven by its aerospace manufacturing base and corporate headquarters. The Kansas City metro area, particularly Overland Park and Lenexa on the Kansas side, hosts a growing concentration of healthcare IT and financial services firms that hire for program management roles. Lawrence and Manhattan see demand through university research programs and affiliated nonprofit organizations.
How to find program development manager visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship eligibility, so you can search program development manager roles in Kansas without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. The platform aggregates openings from Kansas employers in aerospace, healthcare, and technology sectors. Filtering by Kansas state and the program development manager job category gives you a focused view of current sponsored opportunities.
Are there any state-specific considerations for program development managers seeking visa sponsorship in Kansas?
Kansas employers filing H-1B petitions for program development managers must certify a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor, confirming the offered wage meets the prevailing wage for the occupation in the specific Kansas metropolitan area. Prevailing wages differ between Wichita, the Kansas City metro, and rural areas, so the sponsoring employer's location matters. Kansas's aerospace and defense sector also means some roles may require eligibility for security clearances, which can affect international candidates.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program development manager jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
