Which companies in Idaho sponsor visas for data science analysts?
Micron Technology in Boise is one of Idaho's most active H-1B visa sponsors and regularly hires data science and analytics professionals. Idaho Power, Clearwater Analytics, and state agencies with data-heavy operations also appear in sponsorship records. The pool is smaller than major tech hubs, but Boise's growing fintech and semiconductor sectors have shown consistent sponsorship activity for analytical roles.
Which visa types are most common for data science analyst roles in Idaho?
The H-1B is the most common visa for data science analysts in Idaho, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in statistics, computer science, mathematics, or a related field. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for the TN visa under the NAFTA/USMCA mathematician or computer systems analyst category, depending on job duties.
Which cities in Idaho have the most data science analyst sponsorship jobs?
Boise accounts for the large majority of data science analyst sponsorship activity in Idaho. It hosts the state's largest private employers and most of its tech sector, including semiconductor, fintech, and healthcare analytics firms. Coeur d'Alene and Idaho Falls have smaller but emerging employer bases, particularly in healthcare data and energy, though sponsorship opportunities there are considerably less frequent.
How to find data science analyst visa sponsorship jobs in Idaho?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search for data science analyst roles in Idaho without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. Given Idaho's smaller market, setting up alerts for Boise-area postings is practical. Migrate Mate also surfaces employers with a documented sponsorship history, which helps narrow your focus to realistic opportunities in the state.
Are there state-specific considerations for data science analysts seeking sponsorship in Idaho?
Idaho follows federal prevailing wage requirements, so H-1B employers must pay the Department of Labor's wage level for the specific occupation and Boise metropolitan area. The University of Idaho and Boise State University maintain research computing and data programs that occasionally hire international graduates directly, and cap-exempt status at universities means those positions bypass the H-1B lottery, which is worth noting for candidates with academic research backgrounds.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored data science analyst jobs in Idaho?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
