Which companies sponsor visas for case managers in Illinois?
Large health systems are the most active sponsors for case manager roles in Illinois. Northwestern Medicine, Advocate Aurora Health, Rush University Medical Center, and the University of Chicago Medical Center have established immigration processes and regularly file H-1B petitions for qualified candidates. State agencies, federally qualified health centers, and behavioral health organizations also sponsor, though less frequently than major hospital networks.
Which visa types are most common for case manager roles in Illinois?
The H-1B is the most common visa for case managers in Illinois, particularly for roles requiring a master's degree in social work, counseling, or a clinical field. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying social worker classifications. Some positions at academic medical centers support J-1 waivers through the Conrad 30 program, which Illinois participates in for underserved area placements.
Which cities in Illinois have the most case manager sponsorship jobs?
Chicago accounts for the large majority of case manager sponsorship opportunities in Illinois, driven by its concentration of major hospital systems, community health organizations, and social services agencies. Evanston, Oak Park, and other Chicago suburbs also have active hiring through Northwestern and Advocate facilities. Springfield and Rockford see more limited sponsorship activity, primarily through state-affiliated health programs and community mental health centers.
How to find case manager visa sponsorship jobs in Illinois?
Migrate Mate lists case manager roles in Illinois filtered specifically for visa sponsorship, so you can search without sifting through positions that don't support international candidates. Focus your search on health systems and behavioral health employers in the Chicago metro, where sponsorship is most common. Having an MSW or a clinical license recognized in Illinois strengthens your profile considerably when applying through Migrate Mate.
Are there any state-specific considerations for case managers seeking sponsorship in Illinois?
Illinois licensure matters significantly. Many sponsored case manager roles require a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, and international applicants must have their foreign degrees evaluated for equivalency before applying for licensure. Employers sponsoring H-1B petitions must also meet prevailing wage requirements set by the Department of Labor for the specific county and role.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored case manager jobs in Illinois?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
