Which companies sponsor visas for product associates in Illinois?
Chicago-headquartered companies with documented H-1B sponsorship histories for product roles include Morningstar, Groupon, Sprout Social, Uptake Technologies, and Outcome Health. Major consulting and technology firms with large Illinois offices, including Accenture, Deloitte, and Motorola Solutions, also sponsor product associates. Financial services companies like Northern Trust and Allstate have filed petitions for product-focused roles as well.
Which visa types are most common for product associate roles in Illinois?
The H-1B is the primary visa category for product associate roles in Illinois, requiring the position to qualify as a specialty occupation tied to a specific degree field, typically business, computer science, or engineering. F-1 OPT and STEM OPT extensions allow recent graduates to work before an H-1B is needed. L-1B visas apply when a candidate transfers from an overseas office of the same employer.
Which cities in Illinois have the most product associate sponsorship jobs?
Chicago accounts for the overwhelming majority of product associate sponsorship opportunities in Illinois, particularly in the River North, West Loop, and Fulton Market neighborhoods where tech and fintech companies cluster. Evanston occasionally has openings tied to Northwestern University-affiliated startups. Outside the Chicago metro area, product associate roles with visa sponsorship are uncommon, so most international candidates focus their search on Chicago proper.
How to find product associate visa sponsorship jobs in Illinois?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can browse product associate roles in Illinois without manually screening hundreds of postings. The platform surfaces Chicago-area employers actively open to sponsoring international candidates for product roles. Filtering by Illinois and the product associate category on Migrate Mate is a direct way to identify which companies are currently hiring and willing to file H-1B or OPT-extension paperwork.
Are there any Illinois-specific factors product associates should know about visa sponsorship?
Illinois employers must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements when sponsoring H-1B workers, meaning the offered compensation for a product associate role must meet the wage level set for that occupation in the Chicago metro area. The University of Illinois and Northwestern University supply a significant pipeline of international product talent, making Chicago employers relatively familiar with OPT and H-1B sponsorship processes compared to employers in states with smaller international graduate populations.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product associate jobs in Illinois?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
