Which companies sponsor visas for supply chain managers in Illinois?
Several large Illinois employers have consistent H-1B sponsorship histories for supply chain manager roles. Caterpillar in Peoria, Abbott in North Chicago, Deere and Company, Motorola Solutions, and major retailers headquartered in the Chicago metro area have all appeared in Department of Labor LCA filings for supply chain and operations positions. Sponsorship frequency varies by year and hiring need, so checking recent LCA disclosure data gives the most accurate picture.
Which visa types are most common for supply chain manager roles in Illinois?
The H-1B is the most common visa for supply chain managers in Illinois, as the role generally qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, or a related field. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may also qualify under the TN visa category. Those with extraordinary achievement in the field may be eligible for the O-1A, though that standard is significantly higher.
Which cities in Illinois have the most supply chain manager sponsorship jobs?
Chicago and its surrounding metro area account for the largest share of supply chain manager sponsorship jobs in Illinois, reflecting the city's role as a national logistics and distribution hub. Suburbs like Deerfield, Lake Forest, and Schaumburg host major corporate headquarters with active supply chain functions. Peoria sees demand from manufacturing firms, and the Joliet and Elgin corridors attract roles tied to warehousing and freight operations.
How to find supply chain manager visa sponsorship jobs in Illinois?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters supply chain manager roles in Illinois by visa sponsorship history, so you're not sifting through listings from employers unlikely to sponsor. The platform focuses on H-1B and other work visa categories, making it more targeted than general job searches. Filtering by Illinois and supply chain manager on Migrate Mate surfaces employers with documented sponsorship track records in this specific role and state.
Are there state-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for supply chain managers in Illinois?
Illinois employers sponsoring H-1B workers must pay the prevailing wage set by the Department of Labor for the specific role and location, which in the Chicago metro area tends to reflect a competitive market for experienced supply chain professionals. Illinois also has a strong university pipeline, with programs at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Northwestern feeding graduates into supply chain roles, which means some employers are already accustomed to sponsoring candidates coming off OPT or STEM OPT extensions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored supply chain manager jobs in Illinois?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
