Which companies sponsor visas for healthcare assistants in Indiana?
Indiana University Health, Ascension St. Vincent, Franciscan Health, Eskenazi Health, and Parkview Health are among the larger employer systems in Indiana that have sponsored foreign workers in healthcare support roles. Sponsorship activity tends to be concentrated within hospital networks and large skilled nursing organizations rather than smaller independent clinics, which rarely have the HR infrastructure to manage immigration petitions.
Which visa types are most common for healthcare assistant roles in Indiana?
The H-1B is the most common visa for healthcare assistants whose roles qualify as specialty occupations, typically requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant health sciences field. EB-3 immigrant visa sponsorship is also used by Indiana healthcare employers, particularly for persistent hard-to-fill positions. Candidates already in the U.S. on OPT or STEM OPT sometimes transition into sponsored roles after demonstrating value to an employer.
Which cities in Indiana have the most healthcare assistant sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis is by far Indiana's largest healthcare employment hub, home to the IU Health and Ascension networks as well as specialty hospitals. Fort Wayne and South Bend each support regional hospital systems, including Parkview Health and Beacon Health, that hire healthcare support staff. Gary and Evansville also have hospital facilities, though sponsorship activity in those markets is less frequent than in Indianapolis.
How to find healthcare assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate is designed specifically for international job seekers and filters healthcare assistant roles in Indiana by visa sponsorship eligibility, saving you from sorting through listings that don't lead anywhere. Search for healthcare assistant positions filtered to Indiana on Migrate Mate to see which employers are actively hiring internationally sponsored candidates. Focusing on large hospital systems and long-term care networks in Indianapolis and Fort Wayne tends to yield the strongest results.
Are there any Indiana-specific considerations for healthcare assistants seeking visa sponsorship?
Indiana's Department of Labor follows federal prevailing wage requirements, so sponsoring employers must pay wages at or above the Department of Labor's prevailing rate for the specific role and county. Indiana also has a notable university pipeline through Indiana University, Purdue University, and IUPUI, meaning some healthcare assistant candidates enter sponsorship pathways after completing U.S. degrees and OPT. Licensing requirements for clinical roles vary, so confirming Indiana state credential requirements before applying is important.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored healthcare assistant jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
