Responsibilities
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior IT Systems Engineer (Datacenter/Cloud) in Indianapolis, IN. This is a hybrid/remote position. This is an Exclusive Search and were working Directly with Hiring Manager. A rapidly growing, nationwide technology organization is partnering exclusively with us to hire a couple of Senior IT Systems Engineers. These roles operate in a hybrid model and offer the opportunity to work directly with architecture and engineering leadership on modern infrastructure initiatives. The Senior IT Systems Engineer will play a key role in designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise infrastructure across on-prem datacenter, private cloud, and public cloud environments (Azure-focused). This individual will collaborate closely with Architecture, Engineering, and IT Operations teams to deliver scalable, secure, and highly available solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement hybrid infrastructure solutions across on-prem, private cloud, and Azure environments
- Administer and support hyperconverged platforms (Cisco UCS, VxRail, VMware)
- Develop and maintain automation frameworks and scripting (PowerShell, DSC, Linux scripting)
- Implement monitoring, performance tuning, and system health frameworks
- Design and test High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions
- Lead incident management and coordinate with internal teams and external vendors
- Support multi-site, high-availability (hot/hot) environments
- Deliver secure cloud architectures (Azure/AWS) aligned with best practices
- Provide infrastructure analysis, system design, and capacity planning
- Participate in on-call rotation and global support model as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or similar field or equivalent work experience
- 5-7+ years of experience in enterprise datacenter and cloud environments.
- Experience with Azure Cloud is desired.
- Strong experience with Windows Server/Systems; working knowledge of Linux
- Hands-on experience with VMware stack (Such as vSphere, NSX, vROps, VxRail)
- Experience with SAN/storage, networking, and hyperconverged infrastructure
- Background in multi-site environments and HA/DR architectures is a plus
- Scripting and automation experience for infrastructure management
- Experience supporting environments with SOX, SOC2, ISO, or PCI compliance
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and operate independently
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to Azure services (Networking, NSGs, Entra ID, VMs, Storage, Private Endpoints)
- Experience with backup and storage platforms (Rubrik, NetApp, Qumulo)
- Knowledge of Zerto (VPG setup/migrations)
- Familiarity with patching tools and frameworks (Tanium, Windows/Linux patching)
- Strong foundation in Active Directory, DNS, and identity management

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
