ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Your Role: Engineer, IT Quality Management
As an Engineer for SaaS & Cloud Integrations, you will be a key technical contributor to the digital backbone of our quality & compliance systems globally. This hands-on role is the critical bridge between our physical manufacturing processes and the digital quality systems that govern them. You will specialize in implementing, configuring, and supporting our enterprise quality and document management platforms, ensuring our operations are compliant, reliable, and continuously improving through data-driven insights. You will be part of a team that is transforming how Elanco ensures quality, moving towards a future of frictionless, automated systems that empower our end-users.
Your Responsibilities:
-
System Design and Configuration: Contribute to the design and configuration of enterprise quality and document management platforms. You will be responsible for building and modifying quality workflows, lifecycle states, and document hierarchies to ensure our systems are simple, compliant, and always audit-ready for regulatory agencies.
-
User-Centric Process Optimization: Obsess over the end-user experience by analyzing manufacturing and laboratory workflows. You will leverage PaaS/SaaS capabilities and embedded system telemetry to design and implement process improvements that are intuitive, reduce cycle times, and replace manual, paper-driven processes with automated controls.
-
Platform Integration and Evolution: Contribute to the evolution of our IT landscape by integrating quality platforms with other critical systems, including ERP, LIMS, and shop-floor data sources. You will help build a service-oriented ecosystem that ensures data integrity, availability, and synchronization, moving us toward a future of frictionless, automated quality.
-
Lean Validation & Compliance: Execute validation protocols for system enhancements, generating lean documentation to ensure platforms remain compliant with cGMP/cGLP and data integrity requirements without over-engineering.
-
System Management and Support: Provide frontline technical support for our digital quality platforms, troubleshooting and resolving configuration issues to ensure high availability.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
-
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
-
Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience with the configuration and support of enterprise SaaS platforms used in regulated industries, specifically Veeva QMS/Quality Vault.
-
Technical Skills: A demonstrated understanding of user experience (UX) principles to hide complexity from the end-user, and knowledge of data integration concepts (APIs, event-driven architecture) within a regulated industry.
-
Compliance Knowledge: A working knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), current Good Laboratory Practices (cGLP), and Computer System Validation (CSV) principles.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
-
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with a "product over project" mindset—the ability to systematically diagnose issues and discover solutions that users love.
-
Process Analysis: A solid understanding of business process mapping and the ability to challenge "the way it's always been done" in favor of simpler, digital-first workflows.
-
Cloud & DevOps Familiarity: Familiarity with Public Cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, GCP) and modern engineering practices like DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and source control (Git).
-
Product Mindset: Experience working in a product operating model, contributing to rapid discovery prototypes and balancing delivery with compliance.

Which companies sponsor visas for IT engineers in Indiana?
Several large Indiana-based employers have established H-1B sponsorship histories for IT engineer roles, including Eli Lilly, Salesforce's Indianapolis operations, Cummins, Anthem (now Elevance Health), and Rolls-Royce North America. Indiana University Health and major financial services firms in Indianapolis also appear regularly in Department of Labor LCA filings for engineering positions. Sponsorship patterns vary by role type and department.
Which visa types are most common for IT engineer roles in Indiana?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for IT engineers in Indiana, covering roles in software infrastructure, systems engineering, and cloud architecture. TN visas apply to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering classifications. Employers in Indiana's life sciences and defense sectors occasionally sponsor L-1 transfers for engineers moving within multinational organizations. O-1 visas are less common but available for engineers with documented exceptional achievements.
Which cities in Indiana have the most IT engineer sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis accounts for the significant majority of IT engineer visa sponsorship activity in Indiana, driven by its concentration of corporate headquarters, health systems, and financial services firms. Bloomington sees demand tied to Indiana University's research and tech operations. West Lafayette benefits from Purdue University's industry partnerships and the growing tech cluster surrounding the campus. Fort Wayne and Carmel have smaller but active employer bases in manufacturing technology and IT services.
How to find it engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate filters IT engineer job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can browse Indiana opportunities without sorting through roles that won't support your visa. The platform surfaces positions from employers with active sponsorship histories in the state, covering roles across Indianapolis's corporate tech sector, life sciences companies, and regional engineering firms. Searching by Indiana on Migrate Mate is a direct way to identify which employers are currently hiring and willing to sponsor.
Are there state-specific considerations for IT engineers seeking sponsorship in Indiana?
Indiana's lower cost of living relative to coastal tech hubs affects prevailing wage benchmarks set by the Department of Labor, which employers must meet when filing Labor Condition Applications for H-1B roles. The state's strong university pipeline from Purdue and Indiana University means many sponsored IT engineers enter through OPT or STEM OPT extensions before transitioning to H-1B status. Indiana has no state-specific visa or sponsorship program, so federal immigration rules govern all sponsorship processes.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored it engineer jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
