Which companies sponsor visas for new business development roles in Indiana?
Large employers with established legal and HR infrastructure are the most consistent sponsors for new business development roles in Indiana. Companies like Salesforce, Cummins, Eli Lilly, Dow AgroSciences (now Corteva Agriscience), and Salesforce's Indianapolis office have filed H-1B Labor Condition Applications for business development and sales strategy positions. Regional technology firms and logistics companies headquartered in Indianapolis also appear regularly in Department of Labor disclosure data for these roles.
Which visa types are most common for new business development roles in Indiana?
The H-1B is the most common visa for new business development roles in Indiana, provided the position qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as business, marketing, or finance. The L-1B may apply for intracompany transferees with specialized knowledge. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying business roles. O-1 eligibility is rare in this field unless the applicant has demonstrated extraordinary achievement.
Which cities in Indiana have the most new business development sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis accounts for the majority of new business development sponsorship activity in Indiana, driven by its concentration of corporate headquarters, technology firms, and professional services companies. Carmel and Fishers, both northern suburbs of Indianapolis, have grown significantly as business services hubs. Fort Wayne has a smaller but active market, particularly in manufacturing and distribution-related business development. Bloomington sees some activity tied to Indiana University's research commercialization and startup ecosystem.
How to find new business development visa sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship, making it one of the most focused resources for new business development roles in Indiana. You can filter by state and job category to surface employers who have a documented history of sponsoring work visas. Because new business development titles vary widely across industries, searching broadly by function within Indiana on Migrate Mate helps capture roles listed under sales strategy, market expansion, and partner development.
What should international candidates know about pursuing new business development roles in Indiana?
New business development roles in Indiana often require demonstrating that the position qualifies as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes, which means the employer must show a specific degree requirement rather than a general preference. Indiana's cost of living relative to coastal markets can make employer-sponsored roles more accessible at the offer stage, though sponsorship decisions ultimately depend on individual employer policy and legal counsel. Candidates with backgrounds in life sciences, agribusiness, or advanced manufacturing often find stronger alignment with Indiana's dominant industry sectors.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored new business development jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
