Which companies in Indiana sponsor visas for personal assistant roles?
Visa sponsorship for personal assistants in Indiana is most commonly found at large corporate employers and major healthcare organizations. Companies headquartered in Indianapolis, such as Eli Lilly and Salesforce's Indiana offices, along with Indiana University Health and other large institutional employers, have documented histories of sponsoring work visas. Smaller businesses and individual household employers rarely have the legal infrastructure to sponsor foreign nationals for these roles.
Which visa types are most common for personal assistant jobs in Indiana?
The H-1B is the most common work visa for personal assistant roles in Indiana, though it requires demonstrating that the position qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Some roles may qualify under the O-1 visa for individuals with extraordinary ability. Personal assistants working for executives at multinational companies may also explore the L-1 intracompany transferee category if they are transferring from an affiliated overseas office.
Which cities in Indiana have the most personal assistant visa sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis accounts for the overwhelming majority of personal assistant visa sponsorship opportunities in Indiana. The city's concentration of Fortune 500 regional headquarters, major healthcare networks, and hospitality and events companies creates the most consistent employer demand. Fort Wayne and Bloomington offer smaller pockets of opportunity, particularly through university-affiliated employers and regional healthcare systems, though sponsorship activity there is notably less frequent than in the state capital.
How to find personal assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate is built specifically to surface visa sponsorship jobs for international candidates, including personal assistant roles in Indiana. You can filter by role and state to see which Indiana employers are actively seeking candidates and open to sponsoring work visas. Because sponsorship for personal assistant positions is selective, focusing your search on larger institutional employers and corporate headquarters in Indianapolis will give you the strongest chances of finding genuine opportunities.
Are there any Indiana-specific considerations for personal assistants seeking visa sponsorship?
Indiana does not have state-specific visa programs, so federal sponsorship rules apply. One relevant consideration is that personal assistant roles must meet the Department of Labor's prevailing wage requirements for the Indianapolis or relevant metropolitan area before an employer can file an H-1B petition. Indiana University and Purdue University occasionally create pathways for internationally educated candidates through OPT extensions, which can make graduates from those programs more immediately attractive to Indiana employers before full sponsorship is pursued.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored personal assistant jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
