Which companies sponsor visas for personal assistants in New Jersey?
Large corporations with established immigration programs are the most consistent sponsors for personal assistant roles in New Jersey. Companies in the pharmaceutical sector, such as those headquartered in Bergen and Morris counties, along with major financial services firms along the Hudson waterfront, have HR infrastructure designed to support visa petitions. Corporate headquarters in Somerset and Middlesex counties also regularly sponsor executive-level support staff.
Which visa types are most common for personal assistant roles in New Jersey?
The H-1B visa is the most commonly pursued work visa for personal assistants in New Jersey, but eligibility depends on whether the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Roles supporting C-suite executives at large corporations are more likely to meet that threshold. Candidates already holding TN visa, L-1 visa, or O-1 visa status through a sponsoring employer may also work in personal assistant capacities within those organizations.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most personal assistant sponsorship jobs?
Newark, Jersey City, and Hoboken lead in personal assistant sponsorship activity due to their density of corporate offices and proximity to New York City. Short Hills, Parsippany, and Florham Park in Morris County are strong secondary hubs, driven by pharmaceutical and financial sector headquarters. Princeton and New Brunswick also see steady demand, supported by university-affiliated institutions and biotech campuses in the region.
How to find personal assistant visa sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate is a job board specifically built for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship in the United States. You can filter directly for personal assistant roles in New Jersey to see employers who have a documented history of sponsoring work visas. This focused approach saves significant time compared to sorting through general postings where sponsorship status is rarely disclosed upfront.
Are there any New Jersey-specific considerations for personal assistants seeking visa sponsorship?
New Jersey's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters means many personal assistant roles are tied to executive or corporate support functions, which strengthens the case for specialty occupation classification under H-1B. The state's prevailing wage requirements apply to sponsored positions, meaning employers must certify the offered wage meets Department of Labor standards for the specific county and occupation. Candidates should confirm that job duties are clearly documented to support the sponsorship petition.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored personal assistant jobs in New Jersey?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
