Which companies sponsor visas for product engineers in Indiana?
Eli Lilly, Cummins, Salesforce, Rolls-Royce (which operates a significant engineering center in Indianapolis), and Corteva Agriscience are among the Indiana-based employers that have filed H-1B visa Labor Condition Applications for engineering roles. Automotive suppliers concentrated around Columbus and the greater Indianapolis area also appear in federal LCA disclosure data for product and manufacturing engineer positions.
Which visa types are most common for product engineer roles in Indiana?
The H-1B is the most common visa for product engineers in Indiana, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in engineering or a closely related field. Candidates from Canada or Mexico may qualify for TN visa status under the engineer category. Those with extraordinary achievement in their field sometimes pursue the O-1A, though it requires substantial supporting documentation.
Which cities in Indiana have the most product engineer sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis is the primary hub, anchored by corporate headquarters and regional offices in life sciences, software, and advanced manufacturing. Columbus is notable for Cummins' global engineering operations. Fort Wayne has a concentration of automotive component manufacturers that hire product engineers. Terre Haute and West Lafayette (home to Purdue University) also see hiring activity, particularly for candidates coming through university talent pipelines.
How to find product engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate aggregates product engineer roles in Indiana from employers that have demonstrated sponsorship activity, so you can filter specifically for visa-sponsoring companies rather than sorting through listings manually. The platform is designed for international candidates, which means the jobs displayed are sourced with sponsorship eligibility in mind. Searching by role and state on Migrate Mate is a focused starting point for product engineers targeting Indiana employers.
Are there state-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for product engineers in Indiana?
Indiana's cost of living relative to coastal tech markets means prevailing wage requirements for product engineers can be met by a broader range of employers, which may make sponsorship more financially accessible for smaller Indiana-based manufacturers or startups. Purdue University's strong engineering programs also create a local talent pipeline that many Indiana employers are already accustomed to supporting through OPT and CPT before transitioning candidates to H-1B sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product engineer jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
