Which companies sponsor visas for logistics managers in Iowa?
Iowa employers with documented H-1B visa sponsorship activity in supply chain and logistics include Hy-Vee, Deere and Company (with operations near the Iowa-Illinois border), and large agricultural processors like Tyson Foods and Iowa Premium. Third-party logistics firms operating distribution centers around Des Moines and Cedar Rapids also appear in Department of Labor disclosure data as recurring sponsors for management-level roles.
Which visa types are most common for logistics manager roles in Iowa?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for logistics managers in Iowa, provided the role meets the specialty occupation standard, typically requiring a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations, business, or a closely related field. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN visa status under the NAFTA successor agreement. L-1 visa transfers apply when a candidate is relocating from a foreign affiliate of the same Iowa-based employer.
Which cities in Iowa have the most logistics manager sponsorship jobs?
Des Moines generates the most logistics manager sponsorship activity in Iowa, driven by its concentration of distribution centers, corporate headquarters, and freight corridors along I-80 and I-35. Cedar Rapids is a secondary hub, particularly for manufacturing-adjacent supply chain roles. The Quad Cities metro, which straddles Iowa and Illinois, also sees consistent hiring given its access to Midwest rail and intermodal freight networks.
How to find logistics manager visa sponsorship jobs in Iowa?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it easier to identify Iowa employers actively seeking logistics managers who need work authorization. Rather than sorting through general job boards, you can search Migrate Mate for logistics manager roles in Iowa and see which postings include sponsorship. This saves significant time and focuses your applications on employers who have already indicated willingness to sponsor.
Are there state-specific considerations for logistics managers pursuing sponsorship in Iowa?
Iowa's prevailing wage determinations for logistics manager roles are set at the county level by the Department of Labor, and salaries in rural Iowa counties can differ meaningfully from Des Moines or Cedar Rapids metro rates. The University of Iowa and Iowa State University produce supply chain graduates who enter the local talent pipeline, so employers in those markets are generally familiar with OPT and H-1B sponsorship processes for international candidates with relevant degrees.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored logistics manager jobs in Iowa?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
