Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides direct patient care, including evaluation of functional needs, development of treatment plans, and implementation of therapeutic interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Practices within established standards of care, hospital policies, and departmental procedures.
- Adjusts treatment plans based on patient response, progress, and reassessment findings.
- Documents evaluations, treatment sessions, goals, and progress in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner, maintaining required orders, prescriptions, and signatures.
- Collaborates and communicates effectively with physicians, nurses, and other rehabilitation professionals to coordinate care.
- Makes appropriate referrals to other rehabilitation disciplines, including Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy, as indicated.
- Directs and utilizes support staff appropriately to support patient care and functional goals.
- Serves as a patient advocate, promoting safety, dignity, and quality outcomes.
- Maintains professional, ethical, and safe behavior at all times.
- Participates in departmental meetings, quality initiatives, and performance improvement activities as assigned.
- Maintains required licensure and completes continuing education in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
- Attends mandatory education, meetings, and training programs.
