Search Product Associate Jobs in IowaProduct Associate Jobs in Iowa: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies in Iowa sponsor visas for product associates?
Principal Financial Group, Nationwide, and Transamerica are among the larger Des Moines-based employers with established H-1B sponsorship programs that have hired product associates. In Cedar Rapids, Collins Aerospace (RTX) and Hy-Vee's technology division have also filed sponsorship petitions. Larger financial services and insurance firms in Iowa tend to have dedicated immigration support, making them more predictable sponsorship options than smaller startups.
What visa types are most common for product associate roles in Iowa?
The H-1B is the most common visa for product associate roles in Iowa, particularly at financial services, insurance, and technology employers. These roles typically qualify as specialty occupations requiring a bachelor's degree in business, computer science, or a related field. Some candidates already in the U.S. on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT use that window to secure full-time offers before their employer files an H-1B petition.
Which cities in Iowa have the most product associate sponsorship jobs?
Des Moines accounts for the majority of product associate sponsorship activity in Iowa, driven by its concentration of financial services, insurance, and fintech employers. Cedar Rapids is a secondary market with aerospace and manufacturing-adjacent product roles. Iowa City and Ames see smaller volumes but occasionally have openings tied to university-affiliated research institutions and regional tech companies.
How to find product associate visa sponsorship jobs in Iowa?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship, making it a practical starting point for product associate roles in Iowa. You can filter by state and role to see current openings from employers with documented sponsorship history. This is more targeted than general job searching because listings are curated for candidates who need work authorization support.
Are there any Iowa-specific considerations for product associates seeking visa sponsorship?
Iowa's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B product associate roles are set by the Department of Labor based on local wage data, which reflects the lower cost of living in cities like Des Moines compared to coastal markets. Iowa State University and the University of Iowa produce a steady pipeline of international graduates in business and engineering, and some local employers recruit directly from these schools for product-track roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product associate jobs in Iowa?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
