Which companies in Iowa sponsor visas for product development managers?
John Deere in the Quad Cities region, Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, and Principal Financial Group in Des Moines are among the Iowa employers with documented H-1B visa sponsorship histories for product and engineering management roles. Pella Corporation and Hy-Vee's technology division have also sponsored international candidates for product-focused management positions in recent years.
Which visa types are most common for product development manager roles in Iowa?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for product development managers in Iowa, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, business, or a related field. L-1A transfers are also used when candidates are moving from an overseas office of a multinational employer, particularly at companies like John Deere or Collins Aerospace.
Which cities in Iowa have the most product development manager sponsorship jobs?
Des Moines is the most active market, driven by its financial services and insurance technology sector. Cedar Rapids follows closely, anchored by Collins Aerospace and a broader advanced manufacturing base. The Quad Cities metro, spanning Davenport and Bettendorf on the Iowa side, is particularly strong for product development roles tied to heavy equipment and industrial manufacturing.
How to find product development manager visa sponsorship jobs in Iowa?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search for product development manager roles in Iowa without sifting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. The platform indexes employers with active sponsorship histories, which is especially useful for targeting Iowa's manufacturing and financial services sectors where sponsorship patterns are more established.
Are there any Iowa-specific considerations for product development managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Iowa employers must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements when filing an H-1B Labor Condition Application, and wages in Iowa's manufacturing and financial services hubs reflect regional rather than coastal rates. Iowa State University and the University of Iowa produce graduate pipelines in engineering and business that some employers prioritize, meaning international candidates with advanced degrees often compete with a well-qualified local pool for management-level roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product development manager jobs in Iowa?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
