Which companies sponsor visas for product leads in Iowa?
Principal Financial Group, Corteva Agriscience, Collins Aerospace, and Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield are among the larger Iowa employers with established HR and legal infrastructure to support visa sponsorship. Midsize insurtech and agtech firms in Des Moines have also filed H-1B visa petitions for product roles, though sponsorship capacity varies significantly by company size and internal policy.
Which visa types are most common for product lead roles in Iowa?
The H-1B is the most common visa for product lead roles in Iowa, as these positions typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field like computer science, business, or engineering. Candidates already holding L-1B or O-1 visa status may also be eligible depending on their background. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories.
Which cities in Iowa have the most product lead sponsorship jobs?
Des Moines is by far the leading city for product lead sponsorship jobs in Iowa, driven by its concentration of financial services, insurance, and technology companies. Cedar Rapids is a secondary hub, with employers in aerospace and manufacturing that occasionally hire for product leadership roles. Iowa City sees some activity tied to university-affiliated tech ventures and healthcare.
How to find product lead visa sponsorship jobs in Iowa?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find product lead roles in Iowa where employers are open to visa sponsorship. Rather than filtering through general job boards, Migrate Mate surfaces positions specifically tagged for sponsorship eligibility. Focusing your search on Des Moines-based companies in financial services and agtech will give you the highest concentration of relevant product lead openings.
Are there any Iowa-specific considerations for product leads seeking visa sponsorship?
Iowa's Department of Labor prevailing wage determinations apply to H-1B petitions, and employers must certify the offered wage meets the required level for the Des Moines or Cedar Rapids metropolitan area, depending on job location. Iowa State University and the University of Iowa produce technology and business graduates who sometimes enter the sponsorship pipeline through OPT, giving local employers some familiarity with the process.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product lead jobs in Iowa?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
