Which companies sponsor visas for data science analysts in Kansas?
Employers with documented H-1B sponsorship histories for data-related roles in Kansas include Garmin, Spirit AeroSystems, Cerner (now Oracle Health), and major insurance carriers like Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City. Agricultural technology firms and federal contractors in the Wichita area also appear in DOL disclosure data. Sponsorship activity is concentrated in Overland Park and Wichita rather than spread evenly across the state.
Which visa types are most common for data science analyst roles in Kansas?
H-1B is the most common visa category for data science analyst positions in Kansas, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as statistics, computer science, or data science. F-1 graduates on OPT or STEM OPT also fill these positions before transitioning to H-1B. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying analyst roles.
Which cities in Kansas have the most data science analyst sponsorship jobs?
Overland Park, located in the Kansas City metro, has the highest concentration of data science analyst sponsorship activity in the state, driven by technology, finance, and healthcare employers. Wichita follows, with aerospace and manufacturing firms generating demand for analysts. Lawrence and Manhattan see smaller volumes tied to university-affiliated research and regional employers rather than large enterprise hiring.
How to find data science analyst visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it easier to identify Kansas data science analyst roles where employers are actively open to sponsoring H-1B or OPT candidates. Rather than sorting through general postings, you can browse verified sponsorship-friendly openings in Overland Park, Wichita, and surrounding areas directly on Migrate Mate without wading through roles that exclude international applicants.
Are there state-specific factors that affect data science analyst sponsorship in Kansas?
Kansas does not have a state-level visa program, so federal H-1B rules and prevailing wage determinations apply uniformly. The DOL assigns prevailing wages by metropolitan statistical area, so Overland Park positions fall under the Kansas City MSA wage level, which differs from Wichita MSA rates. University of Kansas and Kansas State University both produce data science graduates who create a local OPT pipeline that some Kansas employers are already accustomed to working with.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored data science analyst jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
