Tips for Finding E-3 Sponsorship Jobs in Kansas
Target Wichita's aerospace cluster first
Wichita is home to major aerospace manufacturers and their supplier networks, which regularly hire engineers and technical specialists on E-3 visas. Roles in aeronautical, mechanical, and systems engineering see consistent sponsorship activity in this corridor.
Look across the state line into Kansas City
The Kansas City metro straddles Kansas and Missouri, meaning employers based in Overland Park or Lenexa often recruit across both sides. Searching by the full metro area significantly expands your E-3 sponsorship options in finance, IT, and professional services.
Search for specialty occupation roles, not just visa sponsorship labels
Kansas employers don't always advertise E-3 sponsorship explicitly. Search for roles requiring a specific bachelor's degree field, then ask the employer directly. Migrate Mate filters jobs by visa type, making it easier to identify E-3-friendly postings without manual guesswork.
Prioritize employers with existing international hiring infrastructure
Companies that have sponsored H-1B visas previously are far more likely to understand and support E-3 applications. Kansas employers in healthcare systems, engineering firms, and university research departments tend to have established immigration processes already in place.
Use Kansas's agriculture technology sector as an underrated entry point
Agribusiness and precision agriculture technology companies in Kansas hire data scientists, agronomists, and environmental engineers. These roles often qualify as specialty occupations and attract less competition than equivalent positions in larger coastal markets.
Engage with Kansas-based professional associations early
Organizations like the Kansas Society of Professional Engineers and local chapters of industry bodies connect you directly with hiring managers at sponsoring firms. Migrate Mate can complement this by surfacing active E-3 job listings while your network conversations develop.

These sectors consistently require the specialty occupation credentials that E-3 visas are designed for.
Which cities in Kansas have the most E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Wichita concentrates the largest share of E-3 sponsorship activity due to its aerospace manufacturing base and supporting engineering employers. Overland Park and Lenexa, within the Kansas City metro, offer the next strongest cluster, particularly in technology, finance, and healthcare. Lawrence and Manhattan have smaller but active markets tied to university research and affiliated industries.
What types of roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship in Kansas?
Roles that qualify for E-3 sponsorship in Kansas are those classified as specialty occupations, meaning they require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field directly related to the job. Common qualifying roles include aerospace engineers, software developers, registered nurses, financial analysts, environmental scientists, and agricultural technologists. General management or administrative roles without a degree requirement in a specific discipline typically do not qualify.

What is the prevailing wage for E-3 jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
