Which automotive companies sponsor F-1 STEM OPT visas in Kansas?
Kansas-based automotive and manufacturing employers with documented STEM OPT sponsorship activity include AGCO Corporation, Textron Aviation, Daimler Trucks North America, and several Tier 1 and Tier 2 auto parts suppliers operating in the Kansas City metro. Sponsorship history varies by location and role, so reviewing DOL Labor Condition Application disclosure data for Kansas-specific filings gives the most accurate picture of which employers have actively supported STEM OPT extensions.
Which cities in Kansas have the most automotive F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs?
Wichita and the Kansas side of the Kansas City metro area concentrate the highest number of automotive and advanced manufacturing STEM OPT roles in the state. Wichita's manufacturing base supports mechanical and industrial engineering positions, while Kansas City-area logistics and assembly operations generate demand for supply chain analysts and quality engineers. Smaller industrial corridors near Topeka and Lenexa have also seen STEM-eligible automotive filings.
What types of automotive roles typically qualify for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship?
Roles that typically qualify are those requiring a STEM-designated degree and involving technical specialization. In Kansas automotive settings, this commonly includes mechanical engineers, manufacturing engineers, quality assurance analysts, robotics and automation specialists, embedded systems developers, and supply chain analysts. The role's Standard Occupational Classification code must correspond to a STEM field, and the employer must be enrolled in E-Verify to authorize a 24-month STEM OPT extension.
How do I find automotive F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate filters jobs specifically by visa type and industry, making it straightforward to search for automotive F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship roles in Kansas without manually sorting through unsponsored listings. You can narrow results by location and job category to surface employers that have filed LCAs for STEM-eligible automotive positions in the state. Combining Migrate Mate searches with a review of DOL OFLC disclosure data for Kansas helps verify an employer's actual sponsorship history before applying.
Are there any Kansas-specific considerations for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship in the automotive industry?
Kansas does not impose state-level work authorization requirements beyond federal STEM OPT rules, but the state's automotive sector skews toward manufacturing and supply chain rather than OEM vehicle assembly, which shapes the types of STEM roles available. Employers in Kansas's automotive supply chain are often mid-size manufacturers, and E-Verify enrollment rates can vary among smaller suppliers. Confirming E-Verify participation directly with a prospective employer is an important step before accepting a STEM OPT position.
