Which consulting companies sponsor F-1 STEM OPT visas in Kansas?
In Kansas, consulting and professional services employers with documented F-1 OPT hiring activity include Oracle Health (formerly Cerner) in the Kansas City area, Westar Energy and its advisory partners, and regional IT consulting firms concentrated in Wichita and Overland Park. Management consulting divisions of larger multinationals with Kansas offices also appear in DOL Labor Condition Application disclosures for STEM-eligible roles.
Which cities in Kansas have the most consulting F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs?
Overland Park and the broader Kansas City metro area account for the highest concentration of consulting sponsorship activity in Kansas, driven by technology services, healthcare IT, and financial advisory firms. Wichita is the second-largest market, with engineering consulting and energy-sector advisory roles. Lawrence sees smaller but consistent demand from firms serving the University of Kansas research community.
What types of consulting roles typically qualify for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship?
Roles that qualify must fall under a STEM-designated Classification of Instructional Programs code tied to your degree. In consulting, qualifying titles commonly include data analyst, management analyst, IT consultant, operations research analyst, and quantitative strategy associate. The position must require application of STEM knowledge, and the employer must be E-Verify enrolled and submit a formal training plan to your Designated School Official before the extension begins.
How do I find consulting F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate filters consulting job listings in Kansas specifically for employers with verified F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship history, using DOL Labor Condition Application filing data. This lets you identify which Overland Park, Wichita, and Lawrence-area firms have actively sponsored STEM OPT workers in consulting roles rather than relying on unverified job descriptions. Apply your degree field and OPT end-date filters to surface the most relevant opportunities.
Are there state-specific considerations for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship in Kansas consulting roles?
Kansas does not impose state-level visa sponsorship requirements beyond federal USCIS and DOL rules, but employers must be E-Verify enrolled, which Kansas mandates for all state contractors. Consulting firms serving Kansas government agencies or defense-related clients in Wichita may also require security clearance eligibility, which can narrow options for some international students. Confirm E-Verify status and any clearance prerequisites directly with the employer before applying.
