Which companies sponsor visas for patient service specialists in Kansas?
The largest sponsoring employers for healthcare support roles in Kansas include The University of Kansas Health System, Stormont Vance Health, Via Christi Health (part of Ascension), and Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Large academic medical centers and hospital networks are generally more likely to have immigration counsel on staff and established sponsorship processes than smaller independent clinics.
Which visa types are most common for patient service specialist roles in Kansas?
H-1B is the most common visa for patient service specialists whose role requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field, such as healthcare administration or health information management. Some positions may qualify under TN visa status for Canadian and Mexican nationals if the role aligns with an eligible USMCA occupation. Employers at nonprofit hospitals may also be cap-exempt H-1B filers, which removes the lottery requirement entirely.
Which cities in Kansas have the most patient service specialist sponsorship jobs?
Wichita is the largest market, home to Wesley Medical Center, Via Christi Health, and several large outpatient networks. Kansas City (Kansas side) follows closely, anchored by The University of Kansas Health System and its affiliated clinics. Topeka, as the state capital, has Stormont Vance Health as a significant employer. Lawrence and Manhattan have smaller but active healthcare hiring markets tied to university health services.
How to find patient service specialist visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate is designed specifically for international job seekers and filters patient service specialist openings in Kansas by visa sponsorship availability. Rather than manually screening hundreds of postings, you can search Migrate Mate to surface roles at Kansas employers, including major health systems in Wichita and Kansas City, that have a documented history of sponsoring work visas for healthcare support and patient access positions.
Are there any state-specific considerations for patient service specialists seeking sponsorship in Kansas?
Kansas has a strong concentration of nonprofit and faith-based hospital systems, which are often cap-exempt employers for H-1B purposes, meaning they can file petitions year-round without waiting for the annual lottery. The University of Kansas Health System, as an academic medical center, also falls into this category. Patient service specialist roles that require healthcare administration credentials or health information technology training tend to have a stronger case for specialty occupation classification under H-1B.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored patient service specialist jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
