Which companies in Kansas sponsor visas for product associates?
Garmin, headquartered in Olathe, has a consistent record of H-1B sponsorship for product roles. Oracle Health (formerly Cerner) in Kansas City, Kansas, is another notable sponsor. Wichita-based Koch Industries and its subsidiaries also file sponsorship petitions periodically. Sponsorship decisions vary by team, headcount, and the specific product associate position, so confirming with each employer directly is advisable.
What visa types are most common for product associate roles in Kansas?
The H-1B is the most common visa for product associate positions in Kansas, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, computer science, or engineering, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates already holding OPT or STEM OPT through universities like Kansas State or the University of Kansas may begin work before an H-1B is secured. TN status is available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying roles.
Which cities in Kansas have the most product associate sponsorship jobs?
The Kansas City metro area, spanning both Kansas and Missouri, concentrates the largest share of product associate sponsorship opportunities in Kansas, driven by Olathe, Overland Park, and Lenexa employers in tech, healthcare IT, and telecommunications. Wichita is a secondary market with openings tied to aerospace and manufacturing product teams. Smaller cities like Topeka and Lawrence see limited but occasional postings, often connected to state government or university-adjacent employers.
How to find product associate visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse product associate openings in Kansas without sorting through roles that don't sponsor. You can narrow results by location, filtering for Kansas City metro employers in Olathe or Overland Park, or Wichita-area companies. Because sponsorship details are surfaced upfront, you avoid applying to roles where sponsorship is unavailable.
Are there state-specific or role-specific factors product associates should know about Kansas?
Kansas benefits from a lower cost of living compared to coastal tech hubs, which affects prevailing wage calculations under the H-1B Labor Condition Application process. Employers must pay at least the DOL prevailing wage for the Olathe or Wichita metropolitan areas, which differ from national figures. The University of Kansas and Kansas State University generate a supply of international graduates in business and engineering who often enter product associate pipelines locally, making employer familiarity with sponsorship relatively common among established Kansas City metro companies.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product associate jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
